Dubai Learning Permit 2026: RTA Requirement, Validity, and Renewal Guide

For those planning to learn to drive in Dubai in 2026, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) learning permit is mandatory before starting practical lessons at an authorised driving institute, even after passing the theory test, according to Bin Yaber Driving Institute. The RTA website states you cannot book a driving test appointment without a valid permit. The permit is valid for three months; if it expires before you finish lessons and obtain your licence, you must renew it. The guide covers eligibility criteria, required documents, approved institutes, and renewal steps.
