UAE jobseekers warned: working on tourist visa is illegal

Jobseekers moving to Dubai for work must know the UAE Labour Law before arrival. Working on a visit or tourist visa is illegal, whether paid or unpaid, trial shift- or commission-based, with heavy penalties. Article 5 of Federal Decree-Law No. 29 of 2021 states individuals must not engage in any work except per state legislation, and Article 6 of Cabinet Resolution No. (65) of 2022 further addresses this. Documents must also be attested before landing. This means people in the UAE must avoid any work on tourist visas and ensure proper permits.
