Cyprus or Greece: where salaries stretch further on rent and buying
Renting a two-bedroom flat in Limassol can swallow as much as 91 per cent of an average salary, highlighting Cyprus's rising housing costs. Average salaries in Cyprus are around 54 per cent higher than in Greece, while Greek rents and property prices remain considerably lower, so cheaper housing does not necessarily mean greater affordability. New figures from Greek platform Spitogatos show tenants and buyers increasingly concentrating their searches on the lower end of the market, where competition is particularly strong.
