Cyprus property sales post record September: 1,681 contracts, up 13%
Buyers deposited 1,681 contracts of sale with the Department of Lands and Surveys in September 2026, the strongest September ever recorded and 13% more than the 1,484 of September 2025, according to BuySell's analysis of department data. The nine-month total reached 14,969, which is 1,796 more than in the same period of 2025 and already 83% of last year's full-year 18,114. Every month of 2026 has outsold 2025, eight of the nine by double digits, with July the largest single month on record at 2,040 contracts. Foreign buyers signed more than two in five contracts, Larnaca grew fastest and Limassol stayed the largest market.
Contracts are running 14% ahead of 2025 and foreign buyers account for more than two in five deals, so buyers and sellers on the island should expect a busier market and more competition through the rest of the year.
