Cyprus real estate agents flag geopolitical tensions and construction costs at Property Show 2026
The Cyprus Real Estate Agents Association (Skek), which is affiliated with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve), used the Cyprus Property Show 2026 to set out the pressures bearing on the island's property market. Its vice-president Vasilis Artemiou took part in a discussion on developments, challenges and prospects, saying the sector has operated in a particularly complex and constantly changing environment, citing geopolitical tensions in the wider region, international uncertainty, increased construction costs and changes in the economic environment. He also argued that the work of professional real estate agents goes beyond bringing buyers and sellers together, describing the agent as the person called upon to guide citizens through one of the most important financial decisions of their lives.
Buyers and sellers should expect prices and transaction timelines to stay exposed to regional tensions and construction costs, so budgets are best stress-tested before committing; the association is pushing for professional agents to be seen as advisers rather than mere intermediaries.
