Ecologists call for police probe into alleged kitten abuse at Limassol school

The Movement of Ecologists – Citizens' Cooperation on Tuesday called for a full police investigation into a social media report that a group of boys kicked and abused a kitten at a school in Limassol. According to the post, the one kitten died of its injuries despite a girl's effort to save it by taking it to a vet. The party said it expects the Limassol Animal Police to investigate the case fully, establish the facts and assign responsibility if the allegations are confirmed. The Ecologists also called for the school's role to be examined, for appropriate educational measures if the events are confirmed, and for animal welfare education in schools to be substantially strengthened.
