Flydubai Dubai-Tel Aviv flight makes emergency landing in Tabuk after cockpit attack

A Flydubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv was forced to make an emergency landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, after a violent incident in the cockpit. A passenger described the tense moments on social media, and later accounts said the attacker was stopped by passengers and crew members. A second team of pilots who were on board in civilian clothes reportedly helped regain control of the aircraft, and the Boeing landed safely. The injured captain was identified by several media as Sumit Machchhar, an Indian pilot with thousands of flight hours, who is said to have kept resisting the attacker despite his wounds. One passenger account claimed the attacker wanted to replicate September 11.
